Akamai PM is specifically targeted to address the unique challenges being faced by Hawaii's independent physicians. Akamai PM has all that you would expect from a practice management system including integrated scheduling, billing, claims processing, collections tracking and exceptional reporting.
It also includes a variety of features not typically found in most practice management systems. These include: automated eligibility checking, both direct and clearinghouse-based electronic claims, scanning customizable documents for office organization needs, integration with multiple EMRs, export of data to Excel through user-created queries, on-line views of claims, statements and EOBs, HIPAA tracking and "smart-keys" to speed data workflow and minimize unnecessary entries.
Akamai PM files electronic claims for both primary and secondary insurance and accepts remittance information from HMSA, Quest and Medicare. Akamai PM also supports electronic claims to the majority of the larger mainland payers such as Palmetto, Tricare, Aetna and United Healthcare.
Akamai PM is designed to be EMR "agnostic". That is,
it is built to work with a wide-variety of medical record programs so a
practice isn't locked into only those products that are offered by one
vendor. Akamai PM already has interfaces for about a half dozen of the
