For clients who manage their own receivables, we provide our state-of-the-art practice management software; Akamai PM. Specifically designed for the Hawaii billing environment, we believe Akamai PM is the most full-featured billing system available in the state. It has a host of capabilities, many completely unknown or poorly handled by mainland products. These include appropriate support for general excise tax calculations, native functionality for HMSA's PCP "payment transformation" program and EDI support for local insurance plans. It also includes fully automated eligibility checking, on-line access to payer EOBs/reports, integrated scanning, customizable document templates, automated appointment reminder options (voice, email, text), online and in-person credit card processing, smartphone schedule integration, special modules to support HMSA capitation and integration with Microsoft Word and Excel. Originally released in late 2005, Akamai PM is now in it's fourth major version. It is currently used by over 800 Hawaii providers in about 425 independent practices, representing nearly every specialty. It is used in both in-patient and ambulatory settings. Akamai PM typically is run as a "cloud" based application (utilizing our servers, security and back-up systems) but it can also be configured to run on a local server for very large practices. It is backed by a team that prides itself on being proactive, knowledgeable and responsive. Akamai PM interfaces with the widest variety of Electronic Medical Record (EMR/EHR) products in Hawaii (currently over 50 different systems). This integration allows the registration of a new patient in Akamai PM to automatically create a chart in the EMR, with demographic changes and scheduling information likewise transferred instantly. Conversely, when the physician’s documentation is complete, billing information is seamlessly passed from the EMR back to Akamai to streamline the revenue cycle process. |
